10:00   Interactive Think Tank Panel 
Panelists address questions of quality comprehensive and balanced curriculum, instruction, and assessments with active participation of audience members.  Recent policy research has identified four key focus areas:

  1. Access to a challenging curriculum;
  2. Expectations of (and from) students;
  3. Access to quality teaching; and
  4. Inequitable distribution of resources.

Bob Wise, President, Alliance for Excellent Education and former Governor of West Virginia. 



1:15     Round table work sessions
Based on issues raised in earlier interactive panel session, detailed discussion of issues, solutions, policy and next steps.

American Assn of Colleges for Teacher Education and ACR Steering Committee



3:00     Synthesis panel session. 
Panelist leaders who will have listened closely to the Interactive Panel and Round Table sessions will help identify central issues and leverage points for action to address educational improvement and closing achievement gaps, from a variety of perspectives.
